Never Never Land (Hot Dog, Jumping Frog)

Santa Claus, Easter Bunny, Dr Who (I used to hide behind the sofa too kids) and now the Tooth Fairy. Connie's tooth had been wobbly for some time and the day before it came out she could move it back and forth on the horizontal. Bath time was a hoot lots of splashing, and yes they were told not to, throwing water at each other and me and suddenly the cry went up.

"My tooth has come out!"

She was so excited about going to go to bed and being able to put the tooth under her pillow and wait for the tooth fairy to exchange the tooth for a lovely shiny coin. My wife asked me if we had a going rate for the first tooth and luckily the night before I had done some research on the internet. All of the factual sites about the tooth fairy are American and the forums on these are filled with concerned parents asking about the "going rate". From these sites I discovered that $5.00 is a solid amount for the first tooth and then each tooth goes down in value. I suppose this because the child actually catches on or gets bored giving all their teeth to the tooth fairy and wants to do something experimental with bleach and magnesium.

We decided on a £2 coin which looks really special with a gold rim and silver in the middle, I mean you cannot buy much with sixpence anymore can you?

Great excitement at school the next day with lots of mums asking Connie about her tooth and she was so happy to tell them it had come out. All of the children must have gone home the day before and told their mummy's and daddy's that Connie's tooth was about to come out. It is a good job I had done my research as well because I got asked many times "How much for the first tooth?"

A picture of the tooth? Well, its gone with the tooth fairy so unless I can get to Never Never Land that is going to be one heck of a photo problem, dad.
