I am back now and into the groove and broadcasting from the newly finished loft. Sadly I cannot yet broadcast from the bathroom because we do not have one , but will next week. In the meantime I have been working with the Wisley Music Festival and BBC Out and About.
This picture is a HDR blend taken at the Wisley Music Festival and the performer is none other than Nick Heyward of the terribly famous band Haircut One Hundred. This was one of the images from the 80's night that also included Belinda Carlisle and Altered Images.
Apart from Nick Heyward I have seen the other artists at the Hope and Anchor in Islington and at the Marquee in London in the days when punk was meeting power pop and the New Romantics. Belinda Carlisle was one member of a girl group called the Go-Go's and down in the cellar at the Hope and Anchor the stage was about 2 inches away from the the audiences so you could always get close up to the band. At the time they were coming into a minor UK hit called "Our Lips Are Sealed" we didn't really care that they we not actually that good. We were dancing and drinking cheap cider and listening to some very healthy looking American girls.
One of the reasons I took the picture like this was to fulfil the brief which was to capture the atmosphere of the festival to use in marketing material next year. They did not want specific pictures of the artists but more timeless images that can be used year after year like the stage shots, people enjoying themselves, fireworks and table settings.
