Following on from my last post http://www.photographerdad.com/2009/01/couldnt-i-just-tell-you.html when I reviewed my year in a sort of here's-a-list-of-stuff-I-did way, I thought it would be a good idea to give myself a quick reminder of what the children got up to in 2008.
2008 started off really well for the children and they had lots of Christmas presents to play with in the New Year, the credit crunch had not yet hit Father Christmas.
Connie continued with swimming lessons, gymnastics and added piano lessons to her list of extra curricular. Piano did not last.
Eli was forced to mainly hang out with his dad who did try to be sociable by inviting other dads and friends to play. He also went to (and still does) gymnastics which is called "nastics".
The winter was long and cold until April then it was a scorcher for a month and then really cold for another two months after that. But despite the weird weather we took the children out to many National Trust properties and lots of playing in the garden with the children's friends.to get organised.
During the summer we spent time in Wales and Cornwall and camping at Womad.
After the summer break Connie moved into Class 1 and Eli stepped up to more classes at pre-school. Connie really has made big strides with reading and her writing of her own stories is marvelous.
New school term came around and a major step for both. Eli now up to 4 days a week a mix of mornings and afternoons and Connie into Class1.
This is where for me they both have really grown physically and mentally so much. Eli has taken on the role of a super athlete and now runs wherever he can, he still does gym and most amazing he has taken swimming lessons and will now go under the water. He doesn't half try.
Connie has grown from a little girl into being a girlie girl and understand the world so well.
She even quotes lines from the Italian Job. "You're only supposed to blow the bloody doors off" is a particular fav. I hope her teacher never hears.
