In between shooting for theatre's and the Proms I managed to take the children to the park for a summer holiday meet up with some of their class mates. We had a great time and it actually quite relaxing to listen to the kids scream and shout and hit each other with sticks.
I suppose this was because I was able to sit back, eat picnic, and listen to the mums being extraordinarily candid about their builders and golf partners. Later, to rescue me, another domestic dad turned up later with his children. It really is quite revealing what other people talk about when they are relaxed too.
One mum mentioned that a certain builder was worth hiring because of his amazing six pack and tattoos. Another then said that she had hired the same builder earlier in the year but didn't get to see the tattoos because it was winter time and too cold for the poor old builder to take his shirt off. She was invited to tea to see the new extension in progress.
Whilst playing golf another mum mentioned she got lucky and was able to do a round with a 19 year old teen boy/man. Apparently most of the other women at her golf club were jealous to which the mum replied "Most of them were so old that being jealous was all they could manage."
Obviously I have changed, not mentioned names but.... I might later.
Also I have slightly exaggerated.
